STEM Engagement

Our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) engagement across the manufacturing and educational communities provide us with the opportunity to share our knowledge and interact with today’s students about relevant career path opportunities that highlight STEM in an evolving marketplace.

Applied® associates volunteer time to support local robotic teams, judge science fairs, assist with 4H competitions, and more. Whether we are sponsoring, coaching, or providing goodie bags, we are proud to support the next generation of leaders through STEM education!

STEM Day 2025 at Progressive Field was an interactive learning lab where science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ran free!

At the Applied® exhibit, kids showcased their creativity and teamwork during the STEM Boat Challenge, building and testing their own boats. From spending their "money" wisely to seeing their boats float (or sink!), it was a day full of fun and learning.

Manufacturing Day brings together hundreds of students from middle and high schools across Northeast Ohio to explore future careers in advanced manufacturing.

Corporate volunteers inspire the next generation of the workforce through mentoring sessions, hands-on STEM activities, and a manufacturing career expo on the Science Center’s promenade. Industry sponsors, community partners, and educators will work together to connect talented students with future career paths in a memorable day-long event.

Manufacturing Day is part of a nationwide initiative to showcase the present and future of modern manufacturing industry in an effort to engage and inspire students to pursue careers in the field. The Science Center’s event brings together hundreds of students, educators, and industry experts to build excitement about STEM learning and manufacturing.

STEM Goes Red brings interesting careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life for young women. By giving students access to leading employers and experts, they have the chance for an insider look at what they do.

STEM Goes Red attendees gain firsthand experience, connect with inspiring professionals and learn about jobs across STEM fields. Students can walk away feeling like a whole new world of STEM has been revealed — a world in which they can truly love what they do and make a tremendous impact.
