CBS™ Continuous Blade Secondary™ Belt Cleaner

A clean belt is just beyond this rugged blade.

The CBS™ Continuous Blade Secondary™ Belt Cleaner is designed with an unsegmented blade for excellent cleaning efficiency and low maintenance.

The heavy-duty blade features a steel backbone holding a carbide leading edge which is encapsulated in Flexco's proprietary polyurethane to provide a long-wearing solution for your belt. When paired with a spring or air tensioner, the blade maintains constant pressure on the belt for excellent cleaning efficiency.

Why Is It Important to Skive a Belt Prior to Mechanical Fastener Installation?

Skiving a belt removes a portion of the belt top cover to simplify fastener installation. By removing part of the top cover, the installed fasteners create a stronger grip on the belt carcass.

A lower-profile splice

Since skiving a belt removes the top layer from the belt, it leaves room for the fasteners to lie even with or below the rest of the belt surface. This feature reduces the chance of the fasteners interfering with any of the belt components or conveyor structure.

Longer cleaner and fastener life

Skiving involves taking off some of the top cover of the belt to create a low profile and make the fasteners more compatible with the cleaners, encouraging a longer life for both the cleaners and the fasteners.

03 / Cutting and skiving

900 Series Belt Cutter/Skiver

Cut and skive your belt quickly, safely and accurately.

The 900 Series Belt Cutter/Skiver is a two-in-one belt maintenance tool that allows the user to cut and skive a belt safely and accurately. Designed with operator safety in mind, the blade is completely enclosed during the entire cutting and skiving process.

The cutter blade is captured within the extrusion, ensuring a perpendicular cut. The skiver provides a close fit to the fastener with a 90° skive for better cleaner interaction.

Features and Benefits

The 8 point knobs and drive handle make using this tool operator friendly. The belt stop and skive chart also allow the operator to easily select and set the width of the skive for the appropriate fastener size.

Single-sided clamp feature

Allows the cut belt to fall free on one side, eliminating the need for the blade to cut through two clamped surfaces, thus reducing operator effort.

Multiple ways to drive the skiver.

The skiver can be manually or drill powered, the socket needed for either method is provided.

Same socket size on the cutter and skiver.

The skiver and cutter use a common socket size, allowing for both to be driven with the drive handle. It is not recommended that users use a drill to power the cutter.

90° skive.

This angle provides a closer fit to the fastener size needed for better cleaner interaction.

Independent settings on the skiver.

The settings for the "belt thickness before skive" and "belt thickness after skive" allow the user to set the skive depth to the belt thickness needed for a fastener or skive off a desired amount.

Even skived thickness of the belt.

The skiver will skive the entire belt to the specified thickness, using the bottom of the belt as a reference point to produce a consistent belt thickness along the whole belt width.

Quick clamp feature

Aligns the clamp beam in the uprights and drops it into place.
